Business incubators for sharing services were all the rage back in the days of the dot-com bubble (700 for profit, many more non-profit). Incubators I hear mentioned most often include YCombinator , led by Paul Graham in Silicon Valley, and TechStars , located in Boston, Boulder, New York City, and Seattle.

Business incubators for sharing services were all the rage back in the days of the dot-com bubble (700 for profit, many more non-profit). The goal of most business incubators today is to strengthen the local economy, and commercialize new technologies. However, many research and technology parks also house incubation programs.

Plans for new incubators were announced in two different cities. The results give the company confidence it can expand its tests to screen for early cancer in high-risk people who are otherwise healthy. Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes, just like her fellow black turtleneck wearer Steve Jobs, will get the big screen treatment.

Today the Traveling Geeks saw presentations from 11 interesting startups at French incubator, the Paris Development Agency. The company is targeting recruiters with problems screening candidates. Among them was Stribe , a company TechZulu originally interviewed at the TechCrunch50 conference earlier this year.

Built around a series of monthly meetings, it can easily be 45 days from business plan submission to the major presentation. At the PA, we’re also allowing any company that passes TCA initial screening to present to our monthly meeting with no further formalities. A solution is beginning to emerge though.
