David Sacks, one of the co-founders of PayPal, pitched Geni.com, an online site focused on both family trees and social networking.

I'd rather invest time investing in social media to drive traffic to our site. VentureNet, Perfect Pitch You and I have both been on the board of the technology council. We have traditionally been a company heard about through word of mouth, radio advertising (now our own show) and from a Mini sighting. Love the minis!
