The “private sale” market phenomenon was started in France by Vente-Privee (literally means “private sale”) and was replicated in Germany by BrandsforFriends. Work with the studios to have premium Hulu-ish content prominently branded and for sale. This could also be done by leveraging a partnership (or buyout) of a site like Mahalo. MySpace HAS followers, what it doesn’t have are people excited to promote themselves on their platform. Movies – no website has more Hollywood DNA.

It is a communication platform. If I’m not mistaken, I may have been the first person to send out an angel “personal intro&# email on AngelList through their new platform when it launched or at least I was one of the first few. It’s awesome. But it’s not cutting VCs out.
