Huge thank you to Steve De Long for the write up. How did you start blogging? “My In 2004 / 2005 I was starting to get intrigued with user-generated content. This time frame – 2005/2006 – web 2.0 was starting. You still need the presentation to back that up. Brad’s start in Venture Capital.

A very interesting topic, especially for those of us involved in developing for start-ups. The basic conclusion was that it was a bit premature if you were talking about a serious, funded start-up. Most likely, a Level 2 platform's apps also call into the platform via a web services API to draw on data and services.

The topic of whether the web is dead was kicked off by Chris Andersen of Wired Magazine in this article. The Internet existed long before the World Wide Web and web browsers were created.

The Internet and World Wide Web themselves emerged from open protocols (HTTP, HTML, SMTP, etc) that allowed businesses, individuals and governments to put information online that was accessible to the masses and then to build applications on top of this infrastructure to the benefit of the masses. It’s certainly food for thought.
