Google and Yahoo aren''t going to buy them, AOL has already made its bet, and your only real path to an exit is an IPO for any kind of liquidity. The large acquirers, the Microsoft and Yahoo''s of the world, were buying 20-40 companies a year. I think the incubators have a lot to do with it. Their only option is an IPO.

Danish VOIP technology company founded in 2006 by entrepreneur Tanveer Sharif. -A location based service which incorporates social and gaming elements. Currently has 1.8mm users and adding about 15,000 users/day.

Further to the south are the legendary companies of Cisco, Apple, Intel, eBay, Yahoo!, Back in 2006/07 when I sold my company and then worked at Salesforce.com there were very few options in SF for technology folk to build their careers at big, growing companies. In fact, so many DID NOT that companies like Google & Yahoo!
