City of Industry-based online electronics retailer NewEgg has pulled its IPO, the firm said in a filing with the SEC late Friday. NewEgg had filed for an IPO in September of 2009. In the filing, the firm said that it "determined not to proceed with the initial public offering" but did not give any explanation. READ MORE>>.
Irvine-based Advantage Solutions , which provides technology-enabled sales and marketing services to manufacturers and retailers, has acquired Quantum Networks , a New York City-based e-commerce retailer and agency. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. READ MORE>>.
Those firms include Boingo Wireless , Active Network , NewEgg , GameFly and Peregrine Semiconductor. According to the report, there are 44 U.S., venture-backed companies currently filed for an IPO, with 10 from Southern California and 13 from Silicon Valley.
The study found that the greatest values for Southern California venture-backed firms were created by companies operating in Online Services (51%), followed by Communications and Networking (15%), Software (10%) and Semiconductors (9%).
