Two Southern California venture capital firms have benefited from an acquisition yesterday of Mountain View-based MerchantCircle , an online local business advertising and networking site, by fellow online advertising firm Reply!
One of the portfolio firms of Los Angeles-based venture capital firm RusticCanyon , Trion World Network , is reportedly prepping for an IPO, according to reports over the weekend. RusticCanyon's investment in Trion World Network is managed by Nate Redmond; the firm also has part of its game studio in San Diego.
San Francisco-based investment firm Saints Capital , and Los Angeles-based venture capital firm RusticCanyon Partners said Tuesday that they have formed a new fund, Saints RusticCanyon, L.P., the parent firm of the Los Angeles Times before its acquisition by the Tribune Company.
According to Sony, the deal, which was signed June 30th, help SCE establish a cloud service and expand its network business. The firm's backers included Benchmark Capital, Intel Capital, Limelight Networks, New Enterprise Associates, Qualcomm Ventures, RusticCanyon Partners, and TriplePoint Capital.
