In yet more attrition from Southern California's venture capital ranks, Burbank-based Steamboat Ventures , the venture capital arm of the Walt Disney Company, looks to have sharply pulled back on its U.S. Steamboat no longer lists Managing Directors Dan Beldy and Beau Laskey, and the two apparently left the firm sometime last year. Word of Steamboat's moves have been making their way around the community since early January.

Westlake Village-based online advertising firm ValueClick announced this morning that it has acquired Greystripe , an operator of a brand-focused mobile advertising network. The deal was worth $70M in cash.

EdgeCast Trumpets Customer Gains

Santa Monica-based content delivery network provider EdgeCast Networks said Friday that it now has more than 2000 customers, or more than double the number of customers from the previous year, as of the close of 2010. The firm said those customers include AdColony, Dreamstime, SlashGear, StreamCity, and Tumblr. The firm did not say what that customer count equaled in terms of financial performance.
