Los Angeles-based Sometrics is jumping into the virtual goods marketplace, saying today that it has launched a new site called GameCoins.com , which it says will serve as a marketplace for virtual goods. Sometrics is headed by Ian Swanson, and venture backed by Steamboat Ventures, Greycroft Partners, AT&T, and The Mail Room Fund.

Los Angeles-based Sometrics has teamed up with IGG , an online gaming site, to offer advertiser offers and surveys to gamers on IGG;s games, the firms said this morning. The firms said that Sometrics will offer advertiser-sponsored opportunities for IGG gamers, in exchange for points redeemable within those games.
