Burbank-based Steamboat Ventures , the venture capital firm backed by Walt Disney Co., According to Beijing-based Yoyi Media , it received a Series A investment on undisclosed size from Steamboat Ventures and Gobi Partners. Yoyi Media provides targeted advertising and demographics to Chinese web sites.

Los Angeles-based Steamboat Ventures has set its sights on the celebrity web space, and is the lead investor in a new round of funding for Fanzter , which operates the celebrity products site Coolspotters.com. According to Connecticut-based Fanzter, Steamboat's Dan Beldy joins the firm's board of directors.
