This is why I am such a big fan of General Assembly both because they’re teaching more tangible skills but also because they’re working directly with employers to fund classes as well as to onboard the more successful GA students directly. Los Angeles-based Palomar Ventures is in a new funding with Soros Fund Management, in a deal worth $128.4M to Illinois wireless firm ExteNet Systems. Palomar is represented on ExteNet's board by Kevin Jacques. ExteNet designs, builds and operates distributed wireless networks.

Usually the location of the engineers matters great so having offshore engineering makes acquihires unlikely. Almost certainly the startup would have raised some capital. Acquihires and Venture Capital. But that’s not how you make money in the venture capital business. Let’s assume $2 million in seed money.
