I have been close to the tech & startup sectors for more than 20 years and I can’t think of a period in which I felt more optimistic about the innovation and value creation I see in front of us. Cloud computing and the open source movements have brought down the costs of starting a company by more than 90%.

I have other areas of interest & competence such as cloud computing and document management given my background. The new entrant keeps margins low but suddenly has a lot of profits due to large volumes of business. Of course I could go on and on including businesses like AirBnB, DropBox, Box.net, Yammer and so on.
