Throughout the 90′s the PC became much more popular in corporate environments, so companies began to replace dumb terminals with PCs. As an example of how dumb they were (for those that don’t remember) whenever you changed one field in a browser-designed program the entire screen had to refresh. the rest of the time.

Yes, there is the mythical company you all heard about that walked into Sequoia and had a term sheet 24 hours later. Seemic (now a Twitter client) was originally a video blogging platform. An example: My best recent example of this is Ophir Tanz and Ari Mir. I don’t think most VC’s do. I could go on and on.

Photos that are prime real estate and have never been monetized before, until one very ambitious Silicon Beach startup, GumGum , recognized the opportunity and created the first and largest in-image advertising platform, and an entirely new market. The old media companies were resistant to change. Photos…the final frontier.

I recently wrote a piece for Mashable on how to create a company blog. First, you’ll need a platform. The disadvantage is that you can’t install a lot of additional tools that use Javascript. I’m very particular to Disqus as my commenting platform. I put much time into it. Blogger kinda sucks IMHO.

We started the company based on my own personal experience, as everyone these days has a laptop, and everyone has their application out on the cloud. An example, the first target application we're selling into is Microsoft SharePoint. Microsoft SharePoint is a collaboration platform, typically hosted by an IT department.
