In the same year they won Business Insider’s Startup competition.

If you are talented, of course, you can get funded in any region with enough venture capital and obviously in markets outside of the Valley it is easier to get noticed and get access. It’s hard to get people to take a risk at a startup or for a reasonable salary with all this competition. And of course you have Hollywood.
