A big Los Angeles area construction and engineering firm, AECOM , said Tuesday that it has been selected to build the first, Hyperloop test track, for a competition being run by Hawthorne-based SpaceX. The size of the contract was not announced.

Hawthorne-based Space eXploration Technologies (SpaceX), the rocket firm backed by Elon Musk, said Monday that the firm has introduced a new, reusable spacecraft as part of its set of products. The firm said the new spacecraft is designed to launch on its Falcon 9 launch vehicle.
