In my experience as a mentor and advisor, I find that many of you expect these relationships will just happen , without any overt effort on your part. Actively seek out and attend key outside business conferences in order to meet and get to know people who can help you, and you can help in return.

We do not concentrate on any specific industries, and we're industry agnostic, and we're not focused on any particular industry, whether that be biomed or entertainment. I met david through a mutual friend of ours, before we started this conference three years ago.

Each mentor spoke for nearly an hour to the entire group, answered questions, and sat with each company for one-on-one mentoring. SMASHD LABS brought the founders to the Revolt Conference in Miami, where the Cohorts pitched their businesses in front of a live audience in a Shark Tank meets The Voice type environment.

The second annual USC Silicon Beach event, hosted by the four professional schools at USC, featured a pitch competition and a conference filled with informational panels and interviews. The conference itself was focused on innovation, technology, and startups. The conference was filled with a several panels.
