If you were a student in college, working on a startup idea, what would spur you to drop your education plans, and go full time on your startup? Both have been great mentors ever since. There are lots of sites where you can do one thing, such as find content, and some sites that allow you to save content.

At this point most people know you can learn just about anything online, but MentorMob founders Vince Leung and Kris Chinosorn found weeding through free online instruction to find quality content cumbersome and tedious. Each Guide contains a series of playlists that cover beginner to advanced topical knowledge.

We want to create the right mix of the types of activities, price points, and make sure we have high quality content and high quality activities. Tony Adam is an advisor, he was formerly at MySpace. We noticed that many of those sites were not pre-populating the site with content, were not drawing from external channels, and were not starting conversations on Twitter, Facebook, and elsewhere. The most attractive thing about it was the educational value. So, we were pretty excited to educate ourselves at TechStars.

The co-founder core team, including a CTO, should be fully formed and passionate enough to be working on the project full time. Subblime solves this problem by allowing channels to publish content audiences want and extend that to product recommendations from across the web. Every team has learned many lessons along the way.

OP: During the launch we had to do some consumer education where we had to teach people how to use the app, and this involved creating new behaviors such as bringing headphones to theatres, downloading the audio track beforehand, understanding that they had to put their phone away as to not disturb someone next to them – those sort of things.
