As a software developer I wrote code on what was called a “dumb terminal” because it literally had no processing capability. We ran software on the PCs called “terminal emulation” that allowed us to act like a dumb terminal to interact with mainframes and to act like a PC (with word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

The last time we spent much time chatting with Chris Lyman and Corey Brundage , they were at Los Angeles telephony software firm Fonality , busy getting their employees set up in a full blown, mixed-martial arts (MMA) "fight club". We've instead taken those comments and turned them into scores and a rating platform.

We've applied mathematical logic to give each piece of content a score, which tells you how vibrant that piece of content is, based on likes, comments, and shares. From there, because you can drill down on a week, month, and year basis, you can look and say--at any time, what top 5 pieces of content are interesting?
