Within three months, we easily obtained $3 million of investment at a pre-money valuation of $30 million.

Oh, they didn’t cover that in your Stanford CS course? I know he’s smart but you wouldn’t hire a Javascript developer to do your database design – would you? When we invest they are often the company counsel so we see them at board meetings. He represented us at one firm I invested in and did a great job.

I’ve just completed an investment in Ryan Carson’s new company, TreeHouse. I’m investing heavily in Internet video. So I invested in Maker Studios , which is now the 3rd largest producer of Internet video on the web. But its objective is to teach the world web design or to program computers.

We’ve been using MongoDB as the backing store for Treasury , and over the course of two and a half months , we’ve had over 50,000 excellent Treasuries created by the Etsy community, all stored and served in MongoDB. At some point it will be quite obvious whether the super angels’ investments and strategy succeed or fail. Not so bad.
