Fun Fact: Their latest investment was into LA-based Daqri – the augmented reality platform that has been used for campaigns with Cadillac and MAXIM Magazine.

Bedloo is a social media voting platform for those who want to find the right answer in life. We are all coming from a background in entertainment. We are power users and we are constantly trying to redefine platforms we are frustrated with. That is how Todd and I met, from all the talk of using platforms that frustrates us.

Building a strong tech industry to rival that of Silicon Valley is definitely no easy feat, but the overall feeling within Cal Tech’s Baxter Hall at last week’s event certainly bodes well for the year. With a scale-able platform ready to expand to different industries (utilities and maintenance services, etc.)

What we realized, is that using a platform like the Dodgers to validate those products, and at the same time, solve some of our own problems, made a lot of sense. It ended up being a pretty interesting opportunity, where we could create value not just for us, but industry-wide. The breadth of scope of our entire business group adds value.

I then became and EIR at UC San Diego, and joined EvoNexus, the not-for-profit incubator run by the Irvine Company. We want to create some events, and other initiatives and platforms, that help introduce technologies to serial entrepreneurs who are hoping to commercialize technology and are looking for the next startup.
