BrainChip Expands In India

Aliso Viejo-based artificial intelligence software developer BrainChip says it is opening up a new software development center in Hyderabad, India, which it says will provide software and firmware development for its systems-on-a-chip technology. According to BrainChip, the new software development center initially will be staffed by five software engineers and local management.

Illumina Acquires GRAIL For $8 Billion

Los Angeles-based electronics e-commerce giant Newegg says it is pitching in to help raise funds for California fire relief. According to Newegg, it is giving its customers the option to make small, individual donations to the Los Angeles Fire Department in $1, $5, $10, $25 and $100 increments. The company says it will provide a dollar-for-dollar match on those donations, up to $100,000.

Rocket Lab Preps For First U.S. Mission

Huntington beach-based Rocket Lab is preparing to launch its first rocket launch from U.S. soil, saying last week that it successfully completed a "wet" dress rehearsal of an Electron vehicle launch at Wallops Island, Virginia. According to Rocket Lab, the dress rehearsal was at the Rocket Lab Launch Complex 2 (LC-2) at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport in Wallops Island.
