Venice, California-based social networking app developer Snap Inc. has laid off more than 120 engineers, according to reports based on internal emails being circulated from the company, saying it had cut its "lowest performing" engineers in recent job reviews. The layoffs represent around 10 percent of Snap's engineering team. Snap also cut employees in December.

Santa Monica-based game publisher Activision said Thursday morning that it will unveil the latest in its line of Call of Duty titles on May 17th, with a "Community Reveal" of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Santa Monica-based movie ticketing service provider Atom Tickets announced this morning that it has raised over $60M in a new, Series C funding round, which was led by Fidelity Management & Research Company, and which also included Lionsgate, Disney, and Twentieth Century Fox Film. Atom Tickets said that it tripled its users and ticket sales the year following its rollout in 2016.

Los Angeles-based March Capital Partners has joined Verizon Ventures in backing a new, early stage investment accelerator--called The Fabric --whose co-founders include Sumant Mandal, a Managing Partner at March Capital Partners, and former Managing Partner at Clearstone Ventures. The Fabric says it has raised $15M in a funding round, which came from Verizon Ventures and March Capital Partners, for its efforts to co-create, fund and accelerate companies in the cloud/IoT infrastructure space.
