PlayVS Finds $15M For High School eSports Infrastructure

Los Angeles-based PlayVS , which is developing eSports infrastructure centered around creating an official high school eSports league, has raised $15M in a Series A funding. The funding was led by New Enterprise Associates, and also included startup studio Science Inc, CrossCut Ventures, Coatue Management, Cross Culture Ventures, the San Francisco 49ers, Nas, Michael Dubin of Dollar Shave Club, Kevin Lin of Twitch, and other angels.

SpaceX Delivers SES-12 Satellite Into Orbit

Hawthorne-based SpaceX successfully delivered another satellite payload into space early Monday evening, launching the SES-12 satellite into Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) at 12:45 a.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. According to SpaceX, the SES-12 satellite was deployed about 32 minutes after liftoff. The launch used a "previously flown" Falcon 9 first stage.
