I’m writing this post to explain to entrepreneurs what you should be thinking about in terms of the VC’s you approach and the size and stage of their funds. Some wait 5-7 years but usually this is because it’s proving more difficult to raise a new fund due to market conditions or the lack of returns in their current fund.

I’m very pleased today to announce that I invested, on behalf of GRP Partners, in Burstly alongside Rincon Venture Partners , an early stage VC in Southern California whith whom we love to work (and were our co-investors on RingRevenue ). And this part of the product is entirely free to use. I like that.

side note: our last fund at GRP Partners is currently ranked as the 5th best performing fund of the year 2000. You don’t need to buy expensive software – there are free open source solutions for nearly everything. VC will shrink. Oh yes it will. The top quartile funds have performed well.
