We spoke with co-founder Ryan Costello about Santa Monica-based Event Farm (www.eventfarm.com), on how its software technology is being used to power high end, VIP events for large companies. We're in Santa Monica, and sometime people think we're a venue or rental space for events, but what we are, is a 100 percent software company.

Walk into any Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Southern California and you can’t miss their digital screens. I first met him there and knew he was a talented entrepreneur that I wanted to work with some day. On average the platform is generating 30+% increase in conversions and 15% decrease in cost per lead.

I believe that Twiistup is now a platform from which to grow and highlight what is uniquely LA. There are now a second generation of entrepreneurs and companies that have learned from their last successes and are producing great new companies like TopSpin Media , Sometrics and GumGum. Much of this was highlighted at Twiistup.

Earbits is an online radio platform where artists, labels and concert promoters bid for airtime on a per-song-played basis, and use the exposure to sell their music, event tickets and more.

Burstly, a Santa Monica based company, provides an open and free ad management platform that helps mobile application developers better monetize their inventory. He has many of the attributes I look for in an entrepreneur and importantly he has deep domain experience in ad management. I’ll explain in detail below.
