Such was my recent meeting with Seth Sternberg, founder & CEO of Meebo. What we’re doing at Meebo is trying to socially enable websites by allowing them to immediately get not only the social graph information but to do useful stuff with it. Every so often--particularly in Southern California--you run into a serial entrepreneur, with multiple successes and great track record-- yet, who very few people are aware of. Eventually we worked into an office space in Palo Alto, and at one point, our subtenant was Meebo. Jeff Zwelling is one of those. I grew up here.

As I write these words I’m aware that I could practically change the words AOL and Facebook for much of this section and with a few factual tweaks it might not be noticeable to the reader which of the firms I was talking about. 18 months ago 25% of all pitches to me were ideas for how to build products around Twitter’s API.
