Pasadena-based UberMedia , the Idealab-backed developer of mobile and desktop messaging and social media apps, is announcing this morning that it has hired Ken Rudman as its Vice President of Developer Relations. Rudman has also served at Technicolor, Overture/Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Citysearch.com.

We got into the pay-per-click space early on, when Idealab launched Goto.com, which eventually became Overture and was acquired by Yahoo. There have been changes in how people search, such as mobile devices. Our core competency was in the search space.
