In the era of Skype, web conferencing tools and collaboration software conventional wisdom says that distributed startup teams can be just as effective as those that are in person. The truth is that we work in a very small, tight-knit industry and news & plans spread fast. Most people totally advise against stealth. Marketing futures can be really good for enterprise software companies where the information is passed between sales rep and potential customer in terms of near-term roadmap.
