Clearly, 2009 was not a good year, from the perspective of the technology innovation ecosystem. At the same time, the need for the products and services that OCTANe provides are greater in a recessionary economy than in when the economy is booming. For OCTANe to be successful, we want to see our technology ecosystem grow.

On top was OCTANe Launchpad , the Orange County-based accerator for startups in the technology, life science, and clean technology industries. The good news is--the accelerators seem to be driving a lot of volume of deals overall, and deals seem to be spread across the different accelerators/incubators in the region.

Due to the addition of Walmart as a retailer, 2007 was the first year Vizio became the #1 HDTV manufacturer in the world. All this success in less than five years.
