Sherman Oaks-based home services marketplace SERVIZ , the startup led by former ReachLocal founder Zorik Gordon, said Thursday that it has expanded its services to San Diego. The app provides upfront, all-inclusive prices, charging between $45 and $60 an hour for home services.

Amazon Explains Studio Process, In Video

Amazon has tapped Hollywood vet and former Disney executive Roy Price to head up its movie efforts in Seattle, and has a unit, the People's Production Company, which apparently has been set up in Sherman Oaks to help create scripts and movies as full-budget theatrical feature films based on submissions to Amazon Studios.

Sherman Oaks-based Brilliant Digital Entertainment , operator of the Kazaa peer-to-peer digital music service, has sold its Kazaa peer to peer network and brand, according to New York-based Altrinsic. At Altrinsic's closing price on Thursday, the deal would be worth approximately $5.19M.
