This morning, Techstars (www.techstars.org), the startup accelerator which has had great success in spreading its approach to helping to get startups to the next stage of their life�usually, funding�announced it has opened up its third accelerator in Los Angeles, Techstars LA. The focus is on helping the startup. billion combined.

Some of the most helpful people to me personally have been people not being directly compensated for doing so. He personally worked with Larry, Sergey and Eric Schimidt to help smooth the issues caused by bringing in a senior-level CEO above two super-talented founders who apparently didn’t want a boss. It’s a great read.

From 2007-2012 I scoured LA constantly. I created an accelerator & mentor network (Launchpad LA). Greg truly is a prolific deal maker and is amongst the most helpful people to entrepreneurs in our ecosystem. He’s pushed us to be out in the community more. I tried to be at every event. I sat on panels. I keynoted.

and I thought if we brought the community together for common purpose we could create more of a sense of community to help new entrepreneurs get funded, assemble teams, raise profiles and help with biz dev, product, etc. Throughout 2012 & 2013 we funded many companies and then pulled together a second fund.
