Burbank-based Disney has shut down parent blog site Babble , according to the site, which did not say why it was shutting down. The site had originally been founded in 2006 by Rufus Griscom and Alisa Volkman, covering topics around parenting and raising children. Disney had owned Babble since 2011. READ MORE>>.

Burbank-based Disney said this morning that it has acquired Babble Media, Inc. , an online site features over 200 "mom bloggers". Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Disney said that Babble will become part of the Disney Interactive Media Group, and provide an online resource for moms and fmailies.
