Los Angeles-based Belkin announced a new, high speed HDMI cable today, which it says is designed to connect Apple TV 4K, Mac or HDMI devices a TV or A/V receiver. The company said its cable is specifically optimized for the Apple TV 4K, and is compatible with the Dolby Vision high dynamic range technology.

Los Angeles-based private equity investor Atar Capital said this morning that it has acquired Canadian technology distributor Microcel. Microcel represents such vendors as GoalZero, Polk, Belkin, fitbit and Logitech, and was founded in 1989. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed.
