I did a presentation recently for a graduate class from The Founder Institute around getting online/mobile products out the door. I LOVED it because, the presenting part was over quickly and we got into specific issues that the founders had in terms of getting things built. Would you create contracts without an attorney?

It’s true the some VCs have started writing so many checks that they resemble stock pickers but the majority of us still have less than 10 board seats at any time and tend to go pretty deep so the result is that we care deeply about where we commit our time. Meredith came to see me along with the CTO Marc Berte.

But the thing I am most proud of about Rob is that he has taken a company with a uniquely talented founder & CTO – Nick Halstead – and managed to build a very tight working relationship with Nick where we drive world-class product development without having the usual founder / CEO conflicts.

August was a slow month in terms of traffic and I was away for a lot of the month, but there were some really great posts at the intersection of startups, technology, product and being a Startup CTO. At CallWave, Colin was CTO, Jason was CFO and I was in charge of product marketing and customer acquisition. We met with a ton of VC’s and angels. We’re always hiring great people. I think these personal traits are what reunited us; even more so than our vision for RingRevenue.

We've got a nice API with ties to the enterprise class applications. I think we've got a great team, with the right product, at the right time in the market. Jason Howe: Yes, it's a Series D, though our Series A was an angel funding. It's a great time for that, because there's lots of talent out there.
