Larry Ellison , the founder and Chairman of Oracle , has been named the speaker for the University of Southern California commencement, the school said on Thursday. Ellison founded Oracle in 1977, and was CEO until 2014, when he shifted to Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer.

Los Angeles-based Velocify , the developer of sales automation software which is led by Nick Hedges, has snagged ZEFR Chief Technology Officer Manoj Goyal as its new Chief Operating Officer, the company said this morning. Velocify said Goyal will lead the company's product, technology, and client success teams.

Los Angeles-based web hosting and cloud services firm Media Temple has tapped two technology vets as President and COO, and Chief Technology Officer, the company announced this morning. The firm said it has named Russell P. Reeder as its President and COO, and Albert Lopez as CTO. Redder reports to CEO Demian Sellfors.

Irvine-based Sage North America, the software division of The Sage Group plc, said Tuesday that it has appointed a new Chief Technology Officer, Motasim Najeeb. Najeeb has also served at Oracle, and was a founding memmember of WebMD. Sage said Najeeb will provide technology leadership for the firm.
