Pasadena-based Big Stage Entertainment , which develops 3D avatar technology, said today that it has partnered with video game company GGL Global Gaming, to provide free game content on its web site. GGL operates a video game social networking site, which provides news, communities, and online gaming tournaments and competitions.

Southern California's top startups showed up in force Friday at the Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, for the Technology Council of Southern California's annual VentureNet conference. David Sacks, one of the co-founders of PayPal, pitched Geni.com, an online site focused on both family trees and social networking.

I recently wrote a post on angel financing covering the topic of convertible notes but I realized I was thinking about the issue more from investor perspective and a very narrow topic of how to price the round. Great companies are built by having great products. At an angel round you can get away with no market validation.

Several teams disassembled themselves, joining other teams as well as one new company surfaced off in the corner with no one seeming to notice. Scott Sangster (TCA) made a quick announcement of the new LA Tech Coast Angels SeedTrack program and offered a walk-on pass to the 1st and 2nd place teams. Chris Dumler.
