THQ Signs Innovative Leisure

Turmoil over at Agoura Hills-based videogame developer THQ apparently isn't stopping the company from inking new deals. THQ said Friday that it has linked in a strategic agreement with Innovative Leisure , a new digital development studio. The new studio will focus on mobile, social and downloadable games.

THQ Sells Off UFC Rights To EA

Agoura Hills-based THQ said late Monday that it has sold off its rights to produce titles for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brand, to Electronic Arts. According to THQ, the sale resulted in an undisclosed cash payment to THQ, and allows THQ to continue to publish its existing console and mobile titles through March 31, 2013.

Like Pizza Aims At Mobile App Market

Pasadena-based Like Pizza , founded by veterans of Disney Mobile and THQ Wireless, says it has launched a new digital media studio, which it says will combine games and serialized animation into mobile apps. The startup, led by Jeff Nuzzi and Bob Spang, said it hopes to ship its first mobile app, Bunny Rappid, in 2017.
