I never built a Google-sized business but I did build an organization from scratch that grew to 120 employees in 5 countries before we sold it. You’ll get sales information from your VP of Sales, marketing information from your VP Marketing, tech information from your CTO and so on. But issues do arise as your company grows.

My estimate is that the top 5 YouTube networks will do > $200 million net revenue in 2013 (after Google’s share). Another major hire was Ryan Lissack who joined as CTO. Ynon started as shareholder, board member & advisor and switches to full-time executive. Danny and Ynon in a way will switch roles.

Our founder, Yves Sisteron, was my mentor and board member at my first startup. In fact, just a short Google search reveals that I’ve referred to him frequently through the years. We brought Ryan Lissack down from San Francisco to become Maker’s CTO and the rest is history. Mafias matter a lot to me, as well.
