I’ve worked with 30+ early-stage companies in all sorts of capacities (and spoken to many, many more), so I thought it might be worthwhile trying to classify the various ways that I’ve engaged in different technology roles in startups. Actually, David’s taking even broader roles than I generally do as he’s CEO for at least one startup.

We had the chance to talk with co-founder John Tomich about the funding and the firm, which operates e-commerce sites for fashion brands and others. The company was incorporated in January of 2004, and we provide outsource e-commerce services to organizations, such as brands and retailers. Do you have specific plans for the raise?

We also have a cloud-baesd, billing and practice management solutions, which enables them to manage all of their internal financial processes, and we also have solutions for billing and cloud-based outsourcing of back office tasks. I founded that with the former CTO of my first company, Kevin Smilak, who now works at Google.

If all their sites look the same, or without even hearing your full project requirements they say things like, “Your website has to be created in Ruby on Rails (or any language) or it won’t be viable”, then they not be that flexible in how they address your needs.

Members can freely browse and explore the site. When I first talked with TZ, it was pretty much me just working on the platform and I had outsourced the development to a firm. We also buffed up our technology. The site is now a lot faster. You can create your startup page in two clicks.
