To say he has had an impact on the web would be an understatement. Google was clear that they WOULD NOT go into this business. They were a juggernaut and Google was a small company. But obviously Google won the war. That gave Google a huge cost advantage. Summary notes, as always, provide below.

Bill Gross is the man responsible for the overwhelming amount of monetization on the web. plus a large settlement on patent disputes paid from Google) so Bill did well on it. Google had huge destination traffic. Google monetized this with AdWords (ads on their home page). It kicked Google Video’s ass.
