Southwest Airlines and satellite television provider DISH said today that they will begin offering free, live TV and on-demand TV access to Southwest Airlines customers. The new service comes thanks to a local company, Westlake Village-based Row 44 , which offers up in-flight entertainment and connectity systems.

Westlake Village-based Row 44 , the supplier of in-flight entertainment and broadband equipment to the airline industry, said Tuesday that it has partnered with MLB Advanced Media , to deliver live streaming video and audio in-flight. Financial details of the deal between the companies was not announced.

Westlake Village-based in-flight wireless and entertainment hardware provier Row 44 has signed up its second Russian airline customer, the firm said this week. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed, and Row 44 did not say how many planes UTair plans to install with its systems.
