I have vanity urls setup at just about every site on the web. When Suite Arrival launches, you will be able to login to their site, choose your travel period, destination and toiletry needs and a box will show up at your hotel before you arrive. I’ve jumped on the bandwagon, big time! I love Namechk.com for this.

Eucalyptus’ underlying technology was developed at UC Santa Barbara. They have a number of mini-websites that they run for various products and campaigns and they cannot know which of those sites will need resources at any given point. A good example is the shoemaker Puma. They run all their websites on Eucalyptus.

At the Twiistup panel last week, there was a debate over whether big companies could be created here, which is ridiculous--Demand Media is the latest example there, we've got Cornerstone OnDemand coming out soon, and there is no question there are market leading, large revenue companies coming out of Southern California.
