They demoed the electricity transfer with a physical device that looked like something that would never be allowed on an airplane. Did anybody hold patents that would prevent us from using this technology? I seldom hire patent attorneys during due diligence but this was too important. But it seemed to work. It was impressive.

uBeam’s tech does work and I have safely seen it demo’d in the real life many times. In fact, the headline of one read, “How Putting $10m into uBeam illustrates everything that is wrong with tech investing today.” We checked patents. But “what is wrong with tech investing today?”
