As a mentor to entrepreneurs, I often get asked for the magic that has made Amazon the world's most valuable brand , from a total unknown only twenty years ago. Every new business dreams of growing from a startup to a global market leader in a few years, like Amazon.com, but that goal is elusive. They find more and better owners and builders.

In my case, I had a mentor at the time who helped me understand how there was a parallel between the printing press and the Renaissance, and the Internet as the next step in information and communications.
