Southern California's spaceflight industry has come together to enable a new startup, Stratolaunch , backed by Paul G. According to Stratolaunch today, it is leveraging technology from both Mojave-based Scaled Composites , and Hawthorne-based Space Exploration Technologies to create a new, air-launch system to provide orbital access to space.

Elon Musk , the technology mogul behind SpaceX and Tesla Motors , is gearing up to develop a new startup, to launch its own constellation of satellites to deliver Internet access. According to the WSJ, the Musk is working with the founder of WorldVu Satellites Ltd. No other details of the venture have been revealed yet.
