Pasadena-based FastSoft , the developer of Internet acceleration appliances, has been acquired by Akamai , Akamai said Thursday afternoon. FastSoft's technology is based out of Caltech, and was originally developed to accelerate traffic on the next generation Internet, Internet2. Financial terms of the cash buy were not disclosed.
