Los Angeles-based BURST Oral Care , a manufacturer of electric toothbrushes, has raised a Series C funding round. Size of the funding was not announced. BURST Oral Care said the new funding was led by Goldman Sachs Growth Equity (GS Growth), and comes on top of an earlier $20M in funding from Volition Capital and angels. BURST's founders are Hamish Khayat and Brittany Stewart.

Santa Monica-based Activision Blizzard is seeing a surge in customers, the company said on Tuesday, as a result of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. CEO Bobby Kotick told CNN yesterday that "the environment that we're in today, where you have high levels of unemployment and economic uncertainty, having free games on phones is going to probably be a big way to grow the audience".

The innate immune system has become a hot area for drug development, and for good reason. As the body’s first line of defense, its function (or dysfunction) plays a role in many diseases. The problem, says Ventus Therapeutics CEO Marcelo Bigal, is that drug developers have been working in the dark. Scientists don’t know the structure of many of the innate immune system proteins they’re trying to target and they also lack the tools to work with them in the lab, Bigal says.
