Do in-depth research on relevant startups and leaders. Enlist a mentor and advisor who is not a ‘yes’ person.

There are large sums of money to be invested and if investors can get comfortable with “downside protections” they’ll still write checks.

Here, the mentors come and focus on what the innovators want to do. Who can enter the competition? When will the first competition be held?
