I had called on Chamillionaire from the audience and asked him to provide some views on how artists view social media, why they use it and where it’s heading. As a teenager he experimented with writing & producing his own rap music and received a lot of feedback from elders that he had a talent with words.

thought it would be helpful to put some of my thoughts into a blog post and hopefully spur some conversation in the comments and over email. We had to write a CRM to keep track of them all. Novel and creative campaigns like the recent YouTube campaign from Old Spice purportedly demonstrate the power of social in marketing.

Today I’m announcing that GRP Partners is doubling down on the Twitter ecosystem by investing in DataSift , a company who provides a real-time data platform and tools to third-party developers and corporations. Some will cite my investment two years ago in social-media advertising company Ad.ly Let me quickly take these in turn.

On the card I usually write the date, where I met the person, how I met them and what value I can bring to the table. As a last resort I outsourced and actually hired someone in India to remotely log into my computer during the night and correct all the errors from the scanned cards, which my in house team had processed earlier in the day.
