What that means, is the banner is no longer Flash, but it slcearly HTML-based, and video based. We make websites, and we make banners, primarily for the entertainment industry and Hollywood. Was it difficult from shifting from an agency to becoming a platform developer? It certainly has challenges.

Developers were allowed to code in any language they were most comfortable with including Objective C, Java, Javascript, HTML, C #, Dot Net, and XNA. They created a platform for communication between family members who has a loved one admitted in the hospital. There were many cool apps created over that weekend.

We find that there’s all this really specialized software, software as a service, certain platforms, and different places you can do marketing; all of those have their own sets of data. Is it only a web-platform or will there be a mobile-version?

Assignmint is a web-based platform to list freelancing work for employers and help writers find the right freelance job for them and standardizes the paperwork between the two parties. The entertainment money cannot be overlooked either. I don’t know if LA is going to gain a reputation for entertainment startups.

I would see this many times of the next decade where I learned that nearly every part of the web that involved monetization was immediately gamed and arms races emerged between platforms to combat abuse and people looking for a quick buck. In fact, the platforms weren’t always so quick to crack down as many of them benefitted financially.
